Healthcare providers should brace for a big cold and flu season

The 2025 cold and flu season is off to an early start with more cases already reported compared to 2024.¹ At the same time, vaccination rates for influenza have been declining since 2022 across all age groups in Australia. The biggest decreases have been in children aged 5 to 15 years (a decline of 8.9%) and adults aged 50 to 65 years (a decline of 13.5%).^*2
